2-4 weeks prior to your last day, your Stewards Program contact will send you an email with thorough instructions on all requirements, summarized below, to successfully exit your position.

IMPORTANT!! All of these must be complete in order to successfully close your position and receive the AmeriCorps Education Award.

1. Timesheets Submitted

All hours must be entered AND approved by your last day. You can track your hours in the community portal.

  • Tracking hours with your supervisor ensures you will achieve the minimum required by your exit date

2. Final Report & Project Examples

The Final Report and Post-Survey summarizes your SIP experience so please respond to the questions thoroughly and thoughtfully.

You cannot save your progress. Be prepared to complete the report in one sitting or consider typing your answers in a separate document and copy/pasting the responses in the form when you are ready to submit. Want to see the report template in advance? Revisit the

The report asks for five project photos. Please prepare your photos ahead of time as they are required in order to submit your report! Do not forget to upload the photo caption document with it.

3. AmeriCorps Exit Form

Be on the lookout for an email from AmeriCorps with a link to complete your exit form ~4 weeks prior to your exit date. The form will also be available in your MyAmeriCorps Portal.

Once logged in, you can view any required forms under the "Close of Service Forms" section in your MyAmeriCorps dashboard.

4. Final Member Evaluation

The final evaluation will be sent to your host site supervisor and it is intended to be completed together, preferably in person.

These are professional performance evaluations documenting your achievements and areas for improvement, both of which help you become a more well-rounded scientist after your internship.


Managing your Ed Award

You are eligible to receive the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award after successfully completing your AmeriCorps term of service and enrolling in the National Service Trust.
